(Sparks, Nev.) — Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada, Inc. will host its 47th Annual Convention, Oct. 29-Nov.1 2012, at John Ascuaga’s Nugget, in Sparks.
This will be the 47th annual meeting held since the non-profit organization’s inception in 1965. ITCN houses various community programs, such as; Women, Infant & Children, Child Care Development Fund, Native Workforce Development, Administration on Aging, Head Start, Domestic Violence, Statewide Native American Coalition, Court of Appeals, Emergency Response Commission, and Environmental Protection Agency.
Tribal leaders from around the state will gather and spend the week participating in planned activities, including; workshops, speakers, entertainment, a Halloween themed dance with DJ R-Boogie of Wild 102.9, and a closing luncheon, with comedian-ventriloquist, Buddy Big Mountain.
This year, ITCN will highlight itself, as an organization, and promote the various programs currently servicing the 27 tribal communities throughout the state, including the urban areas of Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Las Vegas.
The 47th Annual Convention allows attendees to connect with Nevada’s Native American communities, attend workshops focusing on education, training and community service opportunities, and participate in entertainment activities.
